Taking care of other people’s children is a responsibility we take very seriously at Liberty Lake Day Camp. We hire energetic, motivated individuals who are positive role models for children and want to leave a positive imprint on their world.
When hiring Liberty Lake team members, we look for these personal qualities and skills:
- A serious work ethic
- Belief in teamwork and a desire for constructive feedback
- Problem-solving and decision-making intelligence
- The ability to empathize and see situations from a camper’s viewpoint
- The ability to think quickly in the moment and improvise when necessary
- An optimistic, upbeat disposition that exudes energy and spunk (Experience working with young people is preferred but not required.)
What our team members receive in return from their Liberty Lake experience:
Leadership Training: No offense to your college textbooks, but working at our camp is the “real deal.” Getting a group of children to listen, respect, trust, and believe in you requires a unique skill set. We conduct in-depth orientations before camp begins and provide ongoing training and feedback throughout the summer.
Friendships: And not just with the campers…Counselors establish lifelong friendships with one another every camp season. (Actually, we’ve had quite a few Liberty Lake weddings as a result.)
Practical Experience: Are you contemplating a teaching, social work, or child-care career? You’ll find out whether you have the patience, personality, and skills to do so after one camp season—guaranteed!
An Unforgettable, Challenging, and Rewarding Summer: There is nothing more gratifying than making a positive impact on children’s lives. There’s a reason our team members come back to Liberty Lake each summer—their lives are altered by their camp experience.
Extra perks of being a Liberty Lake team member include:
- Awesome catered lunches and snacks
