Turtles: Where Young Adventurers Begin!

There’s a special kind of wonder in pre-schoolers, a spark of curiosity and imagination that lights up everything they do. The Turtles program is designed to nurture that spark. For campers entering Pre-K and Kindergarten in September, it’s an age-appropriate introduction to the Liberty Lake experience. Here, children play, explore, and create in a safe and joyful environment surrounded by nature.

Set across 60 acres of open fields and shady trees, the Turtles spend their days outdoors discovering what it means to be part of a community. They laugh, make friends, and grow more confident every day.

A Program That Fits Their Stage in Life

Not every preschooler is ready for a full day of outdoor adventure, and that’s okay. Our Turtles are fully potty-trained, don’t need naps, and filled with energy and curiosity. Parents often describe them as “shot out of a cannon,” and we couldn’t agree more 🙂

Each Turtle group is small, with three caring staff members who provide constant attention and guidance. Our counselors have experience and/or eagerness in early childhood education and know how to turn nervous moments into joyful ones. With the best staff-to-camper ratios anywhere, every child is truly seen and supported.

Learning Through Joy and Discovery

Turtle campers follow a thoughtfully designed schedule that balances structured and unstructured play. Each day offers just the right mix of movement, creativity, and exploration to match their developmental needs. Liberty Lake is a “developmental playground” where young campers build confidence, empathy, and independence through active participation in a wide range of activities.

Daily Adventures Include:

Instructional and recreational swim
Creative play and imagination time
Waterfront and land exploration
Sports and movement games
Performing and applied arts

Growing Independence, One Step at a Time

The Turtles program is more than a summer camp. It is the first step toward independence, confidence, and connection. When they move on to our Freshman Division, your child will be ready to choose their own activities through our popular, big kid “Freedom of Choice” program.

At Liberty Lake, childhood is not something to rush through. It’s something to celebrate. The Turtles are where that celebration begins.
