Now in FIVE Counties, Plus PA!
Your child’s day at Liberty Lake Day Camp begins and ends with bus transportation, a service included in your tuition payment. And something else you might not realize—our LATE BUS transportation is FREE. Each camp day at 5:15 pm, one late bus heads south and the other late bus heads north for destinations well known. We offer this service at no additional cost because we realize how important flexible summer-camp transportation is to working parents and guardians.
There’s also plenty of FUN available to your child during the ride. We use our camp-wide Spirit Events Calendar to create a weekly program especially for the bus ride.
Most of the Counselors riding the buses are former Liberty Lake campers. They will start your child’s morning with games, music, contests, prizes, and even scavenger hunts. By the time the buses roll into our parking lot, the kids are singing and shouting camp cheers. They compete for the coveted Bus Spirit Trophy, which is awarded each week to the bus demonstrating the most enthusiasm, participation, and safety awareness.
During Friday camp assemblies, we tally up points earned by each bus during the week and award the Spirit Trophy to the winning bus’s campers and team members. A GIANT group slushie for the winners caps off another week of high-energy fun riding the bus to Liberty Lake Day Camp.
We work with a professional bus company to ensure our pick-up and drop-off system runs efficiently and on time. Designated Central Express Transportation bus stops at shopping centers, schools, and parks in your vicinity/town were selected based on the most populous locations of our Liberty Lake families. Please see the hyperlink below, “Central Express Locations” (bus stops). For our newest families, we are always open to suggestions regarding additional bus stops (please call us at 609-499-7820).
If meeting the bus at your designated stop isn’t possible, we can attempt to arrange for pick-up and/or drop-off at your home, with a surcharge for this service. The additional Neighborhood Surcharge is $50 one way and $100 both ways/round trip—this is a weekly fee per family. (Please call the camp office for availability of this service in your neighborhood.)
Safety is our primary concern when transporting your child to and from Liberty Lake. All bus drivers possess a NJ School Bus CDL (license); their driving-safety records are carefully monitored by the NJ Department of Transportation. Our professional drivers have years of experience transporting local school kids during many challenging scenarios, including bad weather, rush-hour traffic, and the high-noise output of happy campers having a great time!
Security cameras installed on the buses ensure an additional level of precaution regarding children’s behavior during the bus ride. Each bus is supervised by at least one Liberty Lake Bus Captain. We make it mandatory for all Bus Captains to attend additional bus-duty training before our camp season starts.
Again, let us assure you: The bus ride to our camp isn’t a summertime version of Charles Darwin’s “survival of the fittest” theory. Because your child’s time on the bus is an extension of camp life, we make it count. We do all we can to ensure our campers enjoy the ride!
