Liberty Lake Day Camp’s Senior Division is for tweens/teens entering 7th and 8th grade as well as short-term (3 week) 9th graders. These are our oldest “campers,” who yearn to be treated as young adults sooner than later. Again, because each division runs autonomously at Liberty Lake, our tween Seniors are surrounded by their peers all summer long. They aren’t hounded by little kids who remind them of a (beloved but sometimes annoying) younger brother or sister.

Our entering 7th and 8th graders (and “third-year Seniors”) enjoy the full benefits of the camp’s Freedom of Choice program, with four elective periods available to them. In addition to all the activities campers in our Junior Division can select, Seniors reach the top of our camp’s ‘food chain’ regarding their programming privileges.

Some of Liberty Lake’s “Seniors-only” electives include Jr. Lifesaving and our Senior Soiree, a social, ‘chillaxed’ shindig that these campers look forward to each summer.

Seniors who spend a summer with us are on the cusp of true adolescent independence, best demonstrated by their choices and personal interactions. We’re all too familiar with that internal struggle as a parent—how to begin letting go without completely letting go? With a loving push from our “in the know” Senior Division’s Group Leaders and Counselors, your tween or young teen will begin to travel the righteous paths of respect for others and self-respect.
