Starting on Monday, I asked over 70 campers what their favorite elective was and I got many different answers. On Wednesday, I asked the staff what the most popular electives were. Then, I compared my results…
Despite having 70 votes from campers & 9 answers from staff, some of the results did not match up well. For example, I was told by staff that Hula-Ball was popular, but it only got one vote.Apparently, Senior Soiree was popular, but it got 0 votes & many of the voters were seniors. However, both results showed High Ropes, Gaga, & Cooking were very popular. Gaga had 8 votes, Cooking & High Ropes 6, & Boating, Magic Cards, and Fitness & Nutrition had 4. Most electives had only 1 vote & some had none. I also asked a few campers why the elective was their favorite. Here are some reasons I got:
“My favorite elective is Mountain Biking because I like riding bikes & having fun with my friends.”
“My favorite is the Yoyo Club because I like learning new tricks.”
“My favorite elective is Glee Club because it is fun & everyone is nice.”
Before I end this article, I would like to talk about the results that did not match up. How is it possible for an elective to be popular but not a favorite? Well, here is the answer: Senior Soiree is fun to be in. You can do scavenger hunts or just hangout. However, would you rather do scavenger hunts & just hangout for the whole period or learn new tricks at Skate Park or help the environment at Green Team? One of the best parts about Liberty Lake is that you can do all of them & it is okay to like one elective the most but still have fun at the others.
