With 60 acres of beautiful open space to explore, endless activities to discover, and a screen-free policy that allows children to fully embrace the moment, Liberty Lake is truly unique, and special place.
A Welcoming Culture Starts at the Top
The heart and soul of Liberty Lake is our day camp founder, Andy Pritikin. As a father, teacher, coach, and summer camp industry leader, Andy has been creating an atmosphere of growth, positivity, and belonging since starting the LLDC in 2002.
His commitment to young people extends beyond Liberty Lake – Andy is Past President of the American Camp Association, also serving as professional development chair, conference chair of the largest gathering of camp professionals in the world, and dozens other volunteer roles. He’s also the host of a Day Camp Podcast, which focuses on best practices across the summer camp industry.
That spirit of caring and connection trickles down to everything we do. From our dedicated full-time and seasonal staff to our engaging programs, we believe that when children feel safe, respected, and celebrated, they become empowered to succeed and shine.
Building Our Team of Passionate and Caring Staff
Liberty Lake Day Camp’s team of full-time and seasonal youth development professionals is dedicated to building a safe, supportive, and caring environment where children can thrive throughout the summer.
We don’t just hire anyone – we have a rigorous vetting process, including interviews, reference checks, and background screenings- including fingerprinting- to ensure we bring on only the best. This intensive approach results in assembling a team that understand the significance of their job – that camp makes a positive difference in our lives!
Most staff return year after year, supported by a highly experienced, veteran leadership team.
Inclusion “Success” Program
Liberty Lake has one of the largest summer camp inclusion programs in the world for children with additional needs. Our dedicated team includes Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) trained special education teachers who collaborate with our frontline staff to provide tailored support for campers with physical, emotional, and learning challenges. This unique setting is cherished by all Liberty Lake families, who appreciate their children learning the skills of patience and empathy amongst their peers.

The open-air freedom at Liberty Lake is a key reason why the parents of more than 30,000 kids have entrusted us for 25 years. We take great pride in maintaining our camp facility – every detail is carefully looked after.

This commitment to camper safety and standards results in a safe, clean, and fun environment where kids can explore and grow.
