About Us

WE BUILD COMMUNITY + CHARACTER

Welcome to Liberty Lake Day Camp – where kids thrive, explore, and create lasting memories!

Liberty Lake families value character and community for their children, in an outdoor and screen-free setting. Kids love the freedom to grow their imaginations, talents, and friendships in a safe, vibrant environment. With 60 acres of beautiful open space to explore, endless activities to discover, and a strict screen-free policy that lets children fully embrace the moment, it’s easy to see why Liberty Lake is such a unique place.

A Welcoming Culture Starts at the Top

The heart and soul of Liberty Lake is our day camp founder, Andy Pritikin. As a father, former teacher, and leader in the summer camp community, Andy has been creating an atmosphere of growth, positivity, and belonging since starting the camp in 2002.

His commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people extends beyond Liberty Lake – Andy is an industry leader and spokesman for the American Camp Association, having served as its president, professional development chair, and a dozen other roles over the years. He’s also the host of a day camp podcast, which focuses on best practices across the summer camp industry.

That spirit of caring and connection is felt in everything we do. From our dedicated staff to our engaging programs, we believe that when children feel safe, respected, and celebrated, they become empowered to succeed and shine.

Building Our Team of Passionate and Caring Staff

Our team of full-time and seasonal youth development professionals is at the heart of everything we do. Whether they’re group leaders, specialists, lifeguards, or counselors, each member of our staff is committed to creating a culture of safety, trust, and kindness. We meticulously focus our off-season energy into building a summer team that will make a real difference in your child’s life.

We don’t just hire anyone – we have a rigorous vetting process, including interviews, reference checks, and thorough background screenings- including fingerprinting to ensure we bring on only the best. Our staff is here to help your child have an unforgettable, positive camp experience. This intensive approach results in assembling a team of staff who understand the significance of their job – that camp changes lives.

Most staff return year after year, supported by a highly experienced, veteran leadership team.

Inclusion “Success” Program

Liberty Lake has one of the largest summer camp inclusion programs in the world for children with additional needs. Our dedicated team includes Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) trained special education teachers who collaborate with our frontline staff to provide tailored support for campers with physical, emotional, and learning challenges. This unique setting is cherished by all Liberty Lake families, who appreciate their children learning the skills of patience and empathy amongst their peers.

Our Grounds: A Beautiful, Safe Space for Fun

The open-air freedom at Liberty Lake is a key reason why the parents of more than 30,000 kids have entrusted us year after year. We take great pride in maintaining our camp facility – from 60 shady acres of outdoor space, to the well-kept equipment – every detail is carefully looked after.

For over two decades, we have taken pride in going above and beyond to meet or exceed all safety standards set by local and state regulations, and American Camp Association standards. This commitment results in a safe, clean, and fun place where kids can explore, grow, and create memories. We’d love for your child to be a part of our Liberty Lake community and have the experience of a lifetime!

The kids really enjoy camp, the culture and behavior modeling is helping kids prepare for the real world, there are a lot options for kids to try something new or not.
