Good Food and Good Exercise

At LLDC we have really good comfort food. But those foods aren’t too healthy. Foods such as sloppy joes, tacos, pizza and burgers are not the healthiest. My idea was to show how many calories are consumed daily in one summer. SO first I averaged height (4’8) and then the weight (70 lbs). You would approximately consume 24,500 calories total for summer of 49 days at LLDC.

Now I want to find out how many miles you would have to walk to burn off those calories. On average a 10 year old who is 4’8 and 70 lbs should burn 31 calories every mile they walk. My friend Hunter said he averages 2.5 miles a day! So 8 times 2.5 you would walk!

Other ways you can burn calories are fitness and nutrition, mountain biking, sports (including gaga), swim team, Tower of Power, and hulla ball.  All these could help prevent things like fractures and sprains.  Also, it will help you have more energy as you keep playing.  It’ll burn off all those bad calories so you can be slim, but not quite as slim as the 20th BMI!

Really, you can eat all this, but it is fattening when you don’t exercise.  So, exercise to enjoy!
