Before your child, whether a rookie or a returning camper, steps one foot at camp, we will fill your mind with oodles of camp knowledge.
One month prior to the start of camp, families receive an updated version of the thoroughly informative and entertaining Parent Resource Guide, enhanced by Liberty Lake Day Camp’s owner/director, Andy Pritikin’s 25+ years of industry knowledge.
Two weeks before camp starts, we host a ‘Partnering with Parents’ Zoom as an orientation for our new Liberty Lake families. During this recorded webcast, we’ll explain our camp rules, the Liberty Lake lifestyle, annual spirit days and traditions, our disciplinary and anti-bullying policies, our “Success” Inclusion Program and more. We don’t leave until we’ve answered all your questions, even if it goes into the wee hours of the dark!
The week before Liberty Lake opens for the summer, we also host a Meet ‘N’ Greet for both parents and campers. This evening is a great opportunity to meet the various team members you and your camper will interact with during the summer: your child’s Group Leader, Counselors, and Division Leader, and other important staff working with your child- like our Aquatics Directors, Camp Nurses, Success Team, Dietary Specialist, Transportation Coordinator, and Office Staff. We hand out backpacks and T-shirts during Meet ‘N’ Greet, and it’s a good time to bring in any medications your son or daughter must take while at camp. Attendance is optional, but strongly encouraged – as knowing names and faces makes the first day of camp an easier one!
Day One. Then on a summer morning, after we’ve orientated, greeted and met with you, your child/children will then…get on a Liberty Lake Day Camp bus (or be dropped off by you) and head to camp! We do everything possible to make a new camper’s arrival a safe and enjoyable experience. Our school buses are driven by professional, certified bus drivers. All of our drivers work for local school districts during the off-season and know your town well. Each seat belt-equipped vehicle has Bus Captains on board who supervise and engage the kids with music, cheers, and activities for the ride to and from camp.
