What to Expect

Before your child, whether a newbie or a returning camper, steps one foot at camp, we will fill your mind with oodles of camp knowledge.

One month or so prior to the start of camp, you will receive the thoroughly informative and entertaining Parent Resource Guide, enhanced by Liberty Lake Day Camp’s owner/director, Andy Pritikin’s 25+ years of industry knowledge.

Two weeks before camp starts, we host a ‘Partnering with Parents’ Zoom call, as an orientation for our new Liberty Lake families. During this webcast, we’ll explain our camp rules, our disciplinary and anti-bullying policies, the Liberty Lake lifestyle (it’s all good), traditions we replicate each summer, our Inclusion Program and more. We don’t leave until we’ve answered all your questions. We’ve been known to continue talking until the wee hours in the dark!

One week before Liberty Lake opens for the summer, we also host a Meet ‘N’ Greet for both parents and campers. This evening is a great way to meet the various team members you and your camper will interact with during the summer: your child’s Group Leader and Division Leader, other Counselors working in your child’s division, our Swim Director, and our Camp Nurses. This is a good time to bring in any medications your son or daughter must take while at camp. We also hand out backpacks and T-shirts during Meet ‘N’ Greet night. Attendance is optional but strongly encouraged – knowing names and faces makes the first day of camp a better one!

Day One. Then on a summer morning, after we’ve orientated, greeted and met with you, your child/children will then…get on a Liberty Lake Day Camp bus (or be dropped off by you). We do everything possible to make a new camper’s arrival a safe and enjoyable experience. Our school buses are driven by professional, certified bus drivers. All of our drivers work for local school districts during the off-season and know your town well. Each seat belt-equipped vehicle has a Bus Captain on board who supervises and engages the kids with entertaining activities for the ride to camp.

Other amenities you can expect from a summer at Liberty Lake:

  • Our popular Family Night program (the Thursday of Week 6)
  • The multitude of choices available to our campers entering 1st grade and up
  • Our all-in-one CampMinder dashboard for 24/7 access to your online camp account
  • Direct access to and communication with our leadership team all summer long

Resisting our efforts to pull you into the Liberty Lake family is futile, so start making yourself at home!
