Health Screening

We have implemented a number of new safety measures, and parents will have to take an active role in screening their children each and every morning, as well as in the evenings.

  • Parents will do a health screening and temperature screening at the home of their child before coming to camp. If they have certain symptoms they should stay home:
    • Fever or chills • Cough • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • Fatigue • Muscle or body aches • Headache • New loss of taste or smell • Sore throat • Congestion or runny nose • Nausea or vomiting • Diarrhea
  • Liberty Lake staff will check the temperature of all staff AND CAMPERS upon their arrival to camp. If campers or staff have over a 100.4 fever, they will have to go home.
    • Parents will be asked to screen for the below symptoms at home, as will our staff every day when the campers arrive:
  • We are creating a health action plan that will describe what happens if/when we have to send a camper or staff home, and the implications for the rest of the core group
  • At arrival at camp, staff will thermal screen campers and staff with infra-red thermometers. Additional healthcare professionals are available on-site, including four (4) registered nurses.
  • Campers and Staff will undergo temperature screenings prior to entry
    • Those with temperatures above 100.4 will be separated and sent home immediately
  • It is recommended that campers and staff with higher risk health issues consult with their medical provider to determine if they should attend camp this summer.
  • More info to follow on length of time remaining home, and if/when a case of covid-19 is detected.

Parent Responsibility: Health professionals cannot stress enough the importance that parents are responsible in regards to keeping themselves, their children, and hence other children and staff, safe this summer.

    • Keep children home when exhibiting the illness symptoms.
    • Be vigilant about hand hygiene at home.
    • Keep your kids within their trusted circle of healthy family and friends- We have socially responsible camp families that are literally self-quarantining during the time their children will be at camp, for the sake of keeping their kids and others as safe and healthy as possible.
    • In the least, please continue to do the things your family has been doing- being careful about staying safe. We thank you in advance for this, and we will be reminding our staff regularly as well.
    • Report all illnesses and symptoms to the camp healthcare personnel immediately nurse@libertylakedaycamp.com
    • If a case of Covid-19 emerges within your family, please let us know ASAP as well. We will be given guidelines by our local board of health in regards to quarantine periods that may result (with camp credit given).
