Every winter, we hear from concerned parents of current 8th and 9th graders. Summer is not far away, and they don’t want their teen wasting it indoors, in front of a screen. They want them to have an enjoyable, productive summer- and if they can be unplugged…even better! Parents wonder though, if it’s worth the fight.

Being a teen is difficult, but it’s also challenging to be the PARENT of a teenager. There’s no book or website that provides all the answers. It’s challenging to find a place for kids this age – too old for traditional camp, too young for the workforce.
Having a Summer Plan for your Teen
Whether your teen is looking to build their college resume, spend one more summer having a blast at camp, or unsure what their next summer should look like – it’s important to have a summer plan for your teen.
While camp may not be the answer for everyone, having a summer plan should be non-negotiable. This helps start the conversation and lets your teen know they are part of the decision of how they spend their summer – while making it clear that doing nothing for 10 weeks is not OK.

What is the Teen Leadership Program?
For over 20 years, parents have been entrusting their teens to Liberty Lake because we have the experience to help them develop the skills they need to take them through life. We’ve created a program specifically for 9th + 10th graders – understanding the unique challenges of this stage in their growth and development. We meet kids where they are and give them the confidence to face life’s obstacles head-on.

• Teens looking to spend their summer having a fun, exciting time outdoors with a few dozen nice, smart, cool kids like them- unplugged and outdoors!

One of the most special aspects of our leadership program is how this group of kids quickly bond with each other, forming the kind of friendships made during your freshman year of college.
We teach your teen invaluable life skills: responsibility, resilience and grit, in a fun and challenging way. We prepare them for life by instilling leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
